Class 12 Biology carries the other half of your Biology score β and it holds the single highest-yield chapters in all of NEET: Genetics (Principles of Inheritance, 8β10 Q/year) and Molecular Basis of Inheritance (7β9 Q/year) alone can be worth 15β19 marks every year. Class 12 leans more conceptual and mechanism-based than Class 11 β DNA replication steps, hormonal cycles, ecological pyramids β but the underlying discipline is the same: master the NCERT line, and the marks follow.
This playlist covers all 13 Class 12 chapters in NCERT order, each mined straight from NCERT, rewritten as crisp testable notes, and paired with Active Recall. Unit 6 β Reproduction (Ch 1β3): reproduction in plants and humans, reproductive health. Steady, dependable marks.
Unit 7 β Genetics & Evolution (Ch 4β6): inheritance, molecular biology, evolution. The highest-yield unit in all of NEET Biology.
Unit 8 β Biology in Human Welfare (Ch 7β8): human health & disease, microbes in welfare.
Unit 9 β Biotechnology (Ch 9β10): principles/processes and applications. Fast-growing weight in recent years.
Unit 10 β Ecology (Ch 11β13): organisms & populations, ecosystems, biodiversity.
What NEET actually asks from each unit β one worked example each
Reproduction: "A mature angiosperm embryo sac is: (a) 8-celled, 8-nucleate (b) 7-celled, 8-nucleate (c) 7-celled, 7-nucleateβ¦" β a direct structure-count question straight from Sexual Reproduction (Ch 1). NEET wants the exact numbers, not the general idea.
Genetics & Evolution: "A man of blood group AB marries a woman of blood group O. What are the possible blood groups of their children?" β a genotype-cross you must actually work out (IAi and IBi β group A or B, never AB or O), not recall from memory.
Biology in Human Welfare: "Which of the following provides passive immunity?" or "Name the vector for a named disease" β organism/pathogen/vector name-matching from Human Health and Disease.
Biotechnology: "Which restriction enzyme is commonly used to cut DNA at a specific palindromic sequence?" or an application question (Bt cotton, gene therapy, GM crops) β technique + example, always paired.
Ecology: "In a pyramid of biomass for a pond ecosystem, the shape isβ¦" β you must know how the pyramid shape (upright vs inverted) changes with the type of ecosystem, not just that pyramids exist.
The pattern across all five: NEET rarely asks "what is X" in isolation β it asks you to apply, calculate, or match X. Read every chapter with that lens.

The four π΄ chapters β Sexual Reproduction in Flowering Plants, Principles of Inheritance, Molecular Basis of Inheritance, Evolution and Human Health and Disease β carry the bulk of Class 12's marks. Genetics + Molecular Biology alone are worth as much as five π‘ chapters combined.
Strategy: three study modes for Class 12
Class 12 chapters fall into three distinct study modes β treat each differently.
Genetics & molecular biology (Ch 4β5) are rule- and ratio-based β Mendel's laws, DNA replication steps, the genetic code. These reward Active Recall the most: write out every rule, ratio and named step from memory.
Reproduction & ecology (Ch 1β3, 11β13) are process- and diagram-based β hormonal cycles, ecological pyramids, population growth curves. Learn the sequence of steps and the named structures.
Health & biotechnology (Ch 7β10) are fact-and-application heavy β diseases, pathogens, techniques (PCR, gene therapy). The named examples (organism β disease β vector) are as testable as the concepts.
How to study here β the loop that builds exam memory
1. Read the chapter article top to bottom (Part A then Part B for the split chapters).
2. Do the Test-Yourself MCQs & PYQs at the end.
3. Close it and hit Active Recall β write the chapter's facts from memory.
4. Trust spaced repetition for the weak spots.

Your Class 12 roadmap
Work this playlist in order, Chapter 1 β 13. A practical priority within that order:
Reproduction block (Ch 1β3) first β steady marks, and Human Reproduction/Reproductive Health build vocabulary you'll reuse in Genetics.
Genetics & Molecular Biology (Ch 4β5, both Parts A+B) next β the biggest scorers in NEET Biology. Give these the most repetition.
Evolution and Human Health (Ch 6β7) β both high-yield and largely independent of earlier chapters.
Finish with Biotechnology and Ecology (Ch 8β13) for full coverage.

If you're budgeting, say, 40 hours for a first pass through Class 12 Biology, this is roughly how to split them by real exam weight β not equal time per chapter:

In practice: for every 3 hours you spend on an Ecology chapter, spend 6 hours on Genetics or Molecular Biology. The temptation is to spend equal time per chapter because there are 13 of them β resist it. A π΄ chapter under-studied costs you more marks than a π‘ chapter perfected.
